Spring Tasting 2017

Plan your visit

Sunday April 30th sees the 2017 edition of our Spring Tasting. Here is what you need to know.

(i) The Spring Tasting will take place at The Round Chapel, on the corner of Lower Clapton Road and Glenarm Road, London E5 0LY.

You can view it on a map here

(ii) The Hackney Half Marathon is also taking place on Sunday. We've spoken to the organisers and shouldn't have any impact on you being able to make it to The Round Chapel. There will be some road closures in the area. Roads should be open fully from 11.00am but access on foot should be fine all morning. We do not recommend that you drive for various reasons and we suggest that you do not travel to Hackney Central Station. There are a few ways to get to The Round Chapel and avoid the marathon:

- Overground to Homerton Station and walk up Chatsworth Road
- Overground to Clapton (from Liverpool Street) and walk down Lower Clapton Road
- Overground to Hackney Downs (from Liverpool Street) and walk up Lower Clapton Road

(iii) The tasting will run from 11am – 5pm, with last entry at 4pm. We strongly recommend that you arrive as early as possible to avoid having to queue. We were extremely busy last year and as licensing restricts the number of people who can be in the chapel at one time, sadly some people didn't make it in.

(iv) Tickets are £15 on the door. You can pay by cash or card. This buys you a tasting glass which you can take home and the opportunity to taste with an amazing group of growers all day long.

(v) You can check out the lineup of growers is here

(vi) Steve and the guys from 40 Maltby Street will be making lunch. You can wash it down with glass of beer from The Kernel or a glass of wine from one of the growers.

(vii) Harry & Anna have made a limited run of prints and t shirts which will be available on the day.

(viii) When the tasting finishes at 5pm, please respect our neighbours and leave quietly. The night is young and if you are in search of more great wine and good times we can recommend the following.

- Just across the street, P.Franco will be pouring wines from the growers at the fair by-the-glass and and serving bar snacks until late. They will also have plenty of wines from the growers available to take home.

- Our friends at The Laughing Heart on Hackney Road are keeping their kitchen open until 1am serving an a la carte menu of Chinese food and you can drink from their epic wine list until 2am.

- If you feel like dancing, a combination of great wine and good music can be found just down the road at Behind This Wall in Hackney and over at Brilliant Corners in Dalston and if you are just after the latter, at our friend Pascal's party upstairs at The Haggerston.

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
